Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped okra
  • 1 cup mixed seafood (fish fillets, prawns)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, blended
  • 1 tbsp ground crayfish
  • For the swallow: 1 cup oat flour, 1-1.5 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Soup: In a pot, boil lean seafood (fish fillets, prawns) in water with a few chopped onions and a little salt. Remove the cooked seafood and set it aside.
  2. In the same pot of stock, add a blended mix of peppers, ground crayfish, and chopped okra.
  3. Simmer until the okra is tender. Flaked fish and other seafood can be added back in at the end.
  4. Prepare the Oat Swallow: Boil 1 cup of water. Gradually add 1 cup of oat flour while stirring continuously with a wooden spoon until a smooth, firm dough forms. Knead for a few minutes.
  5. Serve the seafood okra soup hot with the oat swallow.
