Ingredients

  • For the Toasted Pecans:
  • ¼ cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the Shake Base:
  • 3 large scoops (about 1.5 cups) vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or pecan pie syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • For Topping:
  • Whipped cream
  • Caramel or butterscotch sauce
  • Toasted pecans

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add chopped pecans and a pinch of salt. Toast for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until fragrant and lightly browned. Set aside to cool.
  2. Place a tall glass in the freezer.
  3. In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and half of the toasted pecans.
  4. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and the pecans are broken down into small specks.
  5. Drizzle the inside of the chilled glass with caramel sauce. Pour in the shake. Top with a giant swirl of whipped cream, the remaining toasted pecans, and a final drizzle of caramel sauce.
