- ¼ cup pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Pinch of salt
- For the Shake Base:
- 3 large scoops (about 1.5 cups) vanilla ice cream
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or pecan pie syrup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of cinnamon
- For Topping:
- Whipped cream
- Caramel or butterscotch sauce
- Toasted pecans
Instructions
- Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add chopped pecans and a pinch of salt. Toast for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until fragrant and lightly browned. Set aside to cool.
- Place a tall glass in the freezer.
- In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and half of the toasted pecans.
- Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and the pecans are broken down into small specks.
- Drizzle the inside of the chilled glass with caramel sauce. Pour in the shake. Top with a giant swirl of whipped cream, the remaining toasted pecans, and a final drizzle of caramel sauce.
