Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • For the Shake:
  • 3 large scoops (about 1.5 cups) vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce OR red cinnamon syrup
  • Pinch of cinnamon (if using caramel sauce)
  • For Topping:
  • Whipped cream
  • Caramel or cinnamon syrup drizzle
  • Optional: A few red hot candies or a strip of red fruit leather

Instructions

  1. Toss the chopped granny smith apple with lemon juice and brown sugar. For a smoother shake, you can lightly sauté or microwave the apples for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened. Let cool.
  2. Place a tall glass in the freezer.
  3. In a blender, combine the cooled apples, vanilla ice cream, milk, caramel sauce (or cinnamon syrup), and a pinch of cinnamon.
  4. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Drizzle the inside of the chilled glass with extra syrup. Pour the shake in. Top with whipped cream, another generous drizzle of syrup, and a few red hot candies for a true candy apple look.
