  • For the Shake Base:
  • 3 large scoops (about 1.5 cups) vanilla or maple ice cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (plus extra for drizzling)
  • Pinch of sea salt (to enhance flavors)
  • For Topping:
  • Whipped cream
  • Crumbled candied bacon
  • Additional maple syrup drizzle

Instructions

  1. This is the key step. Lay bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes until crispy. Let cool on a wire rack, then crumble. Reserve some for garnish.
  2. Place a tall glass in the freezer.
  3. In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, maple syrup, a pinch of sea salt, and most of the crumbled candied bacon.
  4. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth. The bacon should be broken down into tiny specks.
  5. Drizzle the inside of the chilled glass with maple syrup. Pour the shake into the glass. Top with a large swirl of whipped cream, the remaining crumbled candied bacon, and a final drizzle of maple syrup.
