Ingredients
- For the Bacon:
- 3-4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for candying, optional)
- For the Shake Base:
- 3 large scoops (about 1.5 cups) vanilla or maple ice cream
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (plus extra for drizzling)
- Pinch of sea salt (to enhance flavors)
- For Topping:
- Whipped cream
- Crumbled candied bacon
- Additional maple syrup drizzle
Instructions
- This is the key step. Lay bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes until crispy. Let cool on a wire rack, then crumble. Reserve some for garnish.
- Place a tall glass in the freezer.
- In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, maple syrup, a pinch of sea salt, and most of the crumbled candied bacon.
- Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth. The bacon should be broken down into tiny specks.
- Drizzle the inside of the chilled glass with maple syrup. Pour the shake into the glass. Top with a large swirl of whipped cream, the remaining crumbled candied bacon, and a final drizzle of maple syrup.
