- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- For the Noodles & Sauce:
- 8 oz (225g) dried noodles (lo mein, or spaghetti)
- ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- ½ cup beef broth or water
- For the Stir-Fry:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the sliced beef for at least 15 minutes. Cook the noodles and set them aside. Whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a large pan and stir-fry the broccoli for 3-4 minutes until it's bright green and tender-crisp. Remove it from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same pan, cook the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes until it's cooked through. Remove it and set it aside.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and the white parts of the green onions to the pan and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Return the beef and broccoli to the pan. Add the cooked noodles and pour the sauce over everything.
- Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats all the ingredients. Garnish with the green parts of the green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
